In order to increase sizes of electroslag billet, the remelting research center of Xingtai Steel proceeded renovation project for Φ800mm electroslag round billet at 1# electroslag furnace. This project was successfully finished after 3 days urgent construction on June 15 and first hot experiment was successful on June 16.
So far, Xingtai Steel could produce 4 types of electroslag billets including Φ600mm×6m round billet produced at 1# furnace, Φ600mm×4m round billet (atmosphere protection) and 160mm×160mm×9m small square billet (atmosphere protection)produced at 2# furnace developed before.
Its success marked production capacity of Xingtai Steel for electroslag billet used to Cr5 series high-end cold rolls, large scale H13 modules and large axie which realized round billet product seriation.
